What made you decide to join the Attractions Industry?

As a kid, my parents had always taken me to various amusement and theme parks across the country. I developed a passion for attractions and it only seemed natural to continue this passion in my working environment. As I learned more about the Attractions Industry, I continued to fall in love with it, sealing my place in this incredible industry.

How do you stay motivated during the most stressful times?

It is important to remember WHY you do what you do and WHAT is the purpose (or, the overall big picture) behind each action that you take. Each circumstance is an opportunity to learn something new.

Describe an experience (either with your guests or your team) that was one of the most fulfilling moments of your career so far?

As a leader in this industry, it is my job to share my passion for the industry with those around me. I strive to educate and develop all who I work with and encourage them to pursue their passions. I think the greatest moments I’ve had in my career are when former peers of mine reach out to me to express what they have accomplished simply by following the motifs I’ve passed on to them.

What would you say is your biggest accomplishment to date?

After starting my career, I took time to analyze what I believed were my greatest weaknesses. I then created strategic plans to overcome the barriers to my success. One of them was my level of confidence in the work environment. I’ve utilized my variety of distinct roles in the industry to develop my knowledge and leadership persona, which built my confidence at work. It still is not perfect, but I’m proud of the progress that I have made to date.

If you weren’t in this industry, what would you be doing?

I would be working somewhere in the Travel & Tourism Industry, most likely in Hotel Management. I have a passion for traveling; I could not see myself avoiding that passion in the work field.

What advice would you give yourself on the first day in the industry?

This is all about the journey. It is nice to have an end goal to act as a compass throughout your career, but sometimes a deviation from the path is not necessarily a terrible thing. Learn something new everyday and leverage your career with the experience that you have gained.
